The Beach: A Premium Hand-Woven Geometric Kelim
The Beach is a hand-woven geometric kelim from Mae Artisan Rugs. Part of our
Kelim Collection, this flat-weave rug is woven in India from 80% wool and 20% cotton. Its black and grey palette draws on coastal landscapes, offering a monochrome look that works in both modern and industrial interiors.
Artisanal Quality and Materials
Crafted with 80% wool and 20% cotton, the Beach is built for everyday life. The wool provides natural warmth and durability, while the cotton core keeps the flat-weave structure stable and prevents the pattern from warping over time. Our yarns are batch-dyed by hand, which means each rug develops subtle, organic colour variations known as abrash. No two Beach kelims are identical.
Styling Your Beach Kelim
The monochrome black and grey colourway makes the Beach a versatile foundation for minimalist, Scandinavian, and industrial spaces. It sits cleanly under furniture without adding competing colours, making it ideal for open-plan living areas, bedrooms, and home offices. Layer it with textured throws for added depth.
Care and Longevity
Vacuum regularly on a low-suction setting without a beater bar. For spills, blot immediately with a clean, damp cloth. Since this is a handmade item using natural fibres, professional cleaning is recommended every 12 to 18 months. Rotating the rug every six months ensures even wear. Learn more about
